Clark Fountain Announces “Panthers Park Your Phone” Distracted Driving Scholarship, Encourages Students to Pledge a Distracted-Free Driving Style
Clark, Fountain, Littky-Rubin & Whitman is pleased to announce the formation of the “Panthers Park Your Phone” Distracted Driving Scholarship.
The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior at William T. Dwyer High School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and can be used for any type of continuing education after high school graduation.
“We wanted to offer a scholarship that was not needs-based or merit-based,” said Julie Littky-Rubin, a partner at the firm and co-founder and president of the We Are Dwyer Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to supporting William T. Dwyer High School. “It is important for students to understand that the scholarship can be used for any sort of education after high school, whether that means college, cosmetology school, the armed forces, trade school, or something else that will help them advance after high school.”
The “Panthers Park Your Phone” Distracted Driving Scholarship aims to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving and encourages students to pledge a distraction-free driving style. Applicants are asked to brainstorm creative safety features or an advertising campaign that could reduce distracted driving accidents and ultimately make our roads safer.
“We hope to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving – especially for high school students who are driving,” said Littky-Rubin. “We want them to think twice before reaching for the phone while behind the wheel.”
Seniors at William T. Dwyer High School who meet graduation requirements are encouraged to apply through the Friday, April 26 deadline. The firm will announce the winner of the first annual “Panthers Park Your Phone” Distracted Driving Scholarship at Senior Awards Night on Thursday, May 9 in the high school auditorium.
