A mother of five, Gladys Jackson, was killed when the tire on a vehicle she was riding in blew out; on the approach to the emergency lane, the vehicle was struck in the driver’s side and then the passenger side where Jackson was sitting. It was determined that the tractor-trailer driver failed to slow down or change lanes, and hit the car with such extreme force.
