3D Printing a New Tool for Attorneys

Legal Insight BY

According to ABA Journal, Jacksonville-based 3D Printed Evidence, which opened just a few months ago, can create demonstrative evidence for attorneys to bring to trial. The idea came from a law school student and employee at a 3D printing studio who realized there was untapped potential for 3D printing in litigation. Attorneys can print 3D models from photos taken at the scene of an accident or crime, allowing jurors to see evidence in a new way. So far, the company’s work includes a scale model of part of a crime scene and medical models for forensics experts.
