Nissan Vehicles with Bad Fuel Pump Being Recalled

Auto Defect Auto News & Recalls BY

In an announcement last week, Nissan decided to recall some of their 2014 Rogue vehicles that had bad fuel pump issues. These bad fuel pumps affected the vehicle to the point they would either not start or they would stop while being driven. The recall involves 46,671 vehicles.

According to Nissan, the fuel pumps contain nickel plating. This can result in flakes and loose particles that alter the operation of the pump and create problems with the engine. Owners of the vehicle are being notified of the issue and are encouraging them to bring their vehicles to a Nissan dealer for a free replacement.

The major issue with the malfunctioning fuel pump is it may stop the vehicle from moving. This can result in a serious accident. An accident can cause serious injuries to all individuals involved and in situations like this, the vehicle’s manufacturer may be held accountable for the accident.

All manufacturers have a duty to provide a duty of cares during the production process. If they fail to do so and an injury occurs, there may be grounds for the injured victim to file a product liability lawsuit. This lawsuit can help the victim seek compensation to cover expenses related to the accident such as medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and more.
