Florida, Fla. (March 29, 2012) – Nancy La Vista, a board certified civil trial attorney and a partner at the law firm of Clark, Fountain, La Vista, Prather & Littky-Rubin in West Palm Beach, has earned Board Certification as a Medical Malpractice Lawyer by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys (ABPLA). The distinction places La Vista among the best lawyers in medical malpractice law in the country. Only 14 lawyers in Florida have this special designation.

The ABPLA is the only organization accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) to certify attorneys in the areas of medical malpractice and legal malpractice. Medical malpractice lawyers who become board certified must exceed rigorous selection standards set by the ABPLA, and are recognized as leaders in professional negligence law. To become board certified, malpractice lawyers are evaluated in five objective areas: experience, ethics, education, examination and excellence.

Nancy La Vista has more than 20 years experience as a medical malpractice and products liability lawyer. Her successful track record includesreceiving the largest verdict in Broward county in a medical malpractice claim, and one of the top 100 verdicts in the nation in 2008—a $35 million verdict on behalf of a brain-damaged child. She recently won a $6.32 million arbitration award against a Treasure Coast physician who over-radiated a patient, resulting in severe disfigurement of the patient’s hands.

La Vista has been named 2011 Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Palm Beach County chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). She is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell’s peer-review ratings, is ranked as one of the “Best Lawyers in America,” and is among “Florida Super Lawyers” and the Florida Trend “Legal Elite.”
