Lawsuit Says Faulty Diabetes Equipment to Blame for Student’s Death
According to ABA Journal, a 23-year-old University of Chicago law student was found dead in her apartment in 2013 because she used faulty equipment for diabetics. A recent lawsuit alleges that the student, Abbie Harper, died due to erroneously low blood-sugar readings caused by diabetic test strips that were recalled not long after, as well as an incompatibility issue with the insulin pump.
