Evenflo Recalls 1.3 Million Child Safety Seat Buckles

USA Today reported that Evenflo Company issued a voluntarily recall of more than 1.3 million child safety seat buckles due to the risk of the buckle becoming stuck in a latched position, making it difficult to remove a child from the seat quickly in an emergency. The NHTSA said the recall includes buckles used in children’s convertible and booster seat models manufactured from 2011 to 2014 and includes the Momentum, Chase, Maestro, Symphony, Snugli, Titan, SureRide, and SecureKid models. Affected seats have model number prefixes of 306, 308, 310, 329, 345, 346, 371 or 385. Evenflo’s recall is one of several recent recalls involving child safety seats that can trap children due to faulty buckles. Graco recalled 3.8 million in February for the same reason.
