David C. Prather, a civil trial attorney with Clark, Fountain, La Vista, Prather, Keen & Littky-Rubin, recently pledged $50,000 to The Florida Bar Foundation. Through his donation, Mr. Prather will help Florida’s Legal Aid organizations to develop their next generation of talent. Specifically, the money will restore the Summer Fellows Program, which was suspended in 2012 due to lack of financial resources.
This program puts law students in Legal Aid organizations across the state, where they cultivate projects in a wide range of areas, including juvenile justice, medical-legal partnerships, and homelessness. Like Mr. Prather, the Summer Fellows Program is dedicated to making positive changes in Florida’s communities.
As a board member for The Foundation, Mr. Prather made his pledge at the September board meeting. Foundation CEO Bruce B. Blackwell, President Matthew G. Brenner, and Florida Bar President board member William J. Schifino Jr. accepted the pledge.
