Florida, Fla. (March 2, 2015) - David C. Prather, a partner at the Florida law firm of Clark, Fountain, La Vista, Prather, Keen & Littky-Rubin, was recently honored with the F. Malcolm Cunningham Sr. Bar Association's Presidential Award. Prather was presented with the engraved award at the organization's annual Holland Scholarship Luncheon on February 20, 2015.
The F. Malcolm Cunningham Sr. Bar Association is a voluntary bar association that aims to promote the personal and professional development of blacks in the legal profession. Prather currently serves as one of the Association's advisors. He was awarded for his continuous efforts to uphold the organization's mission within the Palm Beach County legal community and beyond.
The scholarship luncheon is named after William M. Holland, the first African-American attorney in Palm Beach County and a civil rights pioneer. In addition to honoring Holland, the luncheon is held annually to celebrate Black History Month and to award Florida Bar examination course preparation scholarships to third year law students who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence.
Prather is a Board certified civil trial attorney with nearly 25 years of experience who specializes in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice and products liability litigation. He currently serves on the Florida Bar's Board of Governors, and is also past president of the Palm Beach County Trial Lawyers Association.
