Over 14 Million Vehicles Recalled by Multiple Automakers
Categories: Auto News & Recalls
According to a
New York Times
report, more than 14 million vehicles with airbags manufactured by Japanese
company Takata have been recalled. Multiple injuries and fatalities have
been linked to the air bags exploding and sending shrapnel flying into
the cabin. Automakers involved in this recall include BMW, Chrysler, Ford,
Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Toyota and Mitsubishi. Certain vehicles located
in Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands have been
recalled, as the issue is suggested to be due to consistent heat and humidity,
according to NHTSA.
