La Vista Named President of Florida Chapter of American Board of Trial Advocates

Florida, Fla. (July 18, 2013) – Nancy La Vista, a partner at the law firm of Clark, Fountain, La Vista, Littky-Rubin & Whitman in West Palm Beach, has been named President of the Florida chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (FLABOTA).

La Vista recently completed her one-year term as president-elect and was sworn in as president at the annual convention on July 13, 2013.

ABOTA is dedicated to preserving the 7th amendment, the right to trial by jury, and educating youth about civics and civic involvement. The association also fosters professionalism in the field of advocacy for the betterment of litigants and the general public.

Prior to serving on the board of the Florida chapter of ABOTA, La Vista was named the first female president of the Palm Beach County chapter. During her tenure, the chapter was named the 2011 Chapter of the Year by the national organization. The Palm Beach County chapter also named her 2011 Trial Lawyer of the Year.

La Vista is board certified civil trial and medical malpractice attorney with more than 20 years’ experience, who also specializes in products liability. She is also a critical care nurse.

She has a successful track record that includes receiving the largest verdict in Broward County in a medical malpractice claim, one of the top 100 verdicts in the nation in 2008 – a $35 million verdict on behalf of a brain-damaged child. In 2011, her $6.32 million arbitration award against a Treasure Coast physician who over-radiated a patient, resulting in severe disfigurement of the patients’ hands, was recognized as one of the Top 100 Florida Verdicts.
