Awarded to a Graduating William T. Dwyer High School Senior Who Pledges
to Drive Distraction-Free and Has Ideas on Motivating Others to Do the
Same, Funded by West Palm Beach Personal Injury Law Firm, Clark, Fountain,
La Vista, Prather & Littky-Rubin
Every year the West Palm Beach personal injury law firm of Clark, Fountain,
La Vista, Prather & Littky-Rubin awards one graduating senior at William
T. Dwyer High School the “Panthers Park Your Phone” Distracted
Driving Scholarship. The $1,000 scholarship is to be used for any type
of continuing education after high school graduation (any type of college,
trade school, degree certification, military, etc).
Distracted driving accidents are 100 percent preventable. The “Panthers
Park Your Phone” Distracted Driving Scholarship aims to raise awareness
about the dangers of driving while texting, talking on the phone, applying
make-up, eating, etc. Applicants will pledge to drive distraction-free
and submit a short essay challenging them to think creatively about solutions
for safer roads.
The winner will be selected by Clark, Fountain, La Vista, Prather &
Littky-Rubin and notified prior to the public announcement at Senior Awards
Night on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.
Eligibility Requirements:
- You must be a graduating senior at William T. Dwyer High School and meet
the requirements for graduation in 2020.
- You must have plans to pursue any type of continuing education after graduation
(four or two-year college or university, trade or certificate programs,
military, etc.)
- You must complete the scholarship application by the April 24th, 2020 deadline,
which includes pledging to always drive distraction free.
- If you are selected as a winner, you will try your best to attend Senior
Awards Night on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.
- Each student may submit only one application.
