Clark Fountain Partner & Attorney David Prather received a Florida Bar President’s Award of Merit at The Florida Bar’s 65th Annual Convention last week at the Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton.

David joined The Florida Bar Board of Governors in 2007 and has served on more than half of its committees, including the Executive Committee.

Gregory W. Coleman, the 2014-15 Florida Bar president, thanked David C. Prather especially for serving as chair of one of the Bar's most important committees, the Program Evaluation Committee, and for his overall dedication to the betterment of the legal profession.

"This year David was involved in all aspects of the Program Evaluation Committee's work, including that of eight separate subcommittees. He also reached out to Bar leaders and Bar members to gather information and discuss matters being studied by the committee," Coleman said. "And, he is a great friend, father and lawyer."

Under Prather's leadership, this year the Program Evaluation Committee completed a major review and approved hundreds of revisions to standing Board policies, completed a section evaluation and approved a proposal to create a new section, and created three Florida Bar committees: the Special Committee on Illegal and Unethical Solicitation of Legal Business, the Board Committee on Technology, and the Standing Committee on Technology/Office Tools and Resources.
