Newsletters BY

Three named partners at the law firm of Clark, Fountain, La Vista, Littky-Rubin & Whitman have been recognized as Florida Legal Elite 2012 by Florida Trend magazine. Only two percent of the more than 67,000 active Florida Bar attorneys in the state are recognized with this distinction. The attorneys are Nancy La Vista, David C. Prather, and W. Hampton Keen.

Nancy La Vista is a dual Board Certified civil trial and medical malpractice lawyer who has more than 20 years experience. Her successful track record includes receiving the largest verdict in Broward County in a medical malpractice claim, as well as one of the top 100 verdicts in the nation in 2008 – a $35 million verdict on behalf of a brain-damaged child. Most recently, her $6.32 million arbitration award against a Treasure Coast physician who over-radiated a patient, resulting in severe disfigurement of the patients’ hands, was recognized as one of the Top 100 Florida Verdicts of 2011. The Palm Beach County chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) named her 2011 Trial Lawyer of the Year.

David C. Prather is a Board certified civil trial attorney, specializing in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, and auto negligence litigation. Senators Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio appointed him to the Federal Judicial Nominating Committee (JNC) for the Southern District of Florida, where is he currently serving a two-year term. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors of the Florida Bar, as well as the Board itself. Prather is annually recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers in America.”

W. Hampton Keen is a civil trial attorney who concentrates his practice in the areas of products liability and catastrophic injury cases. Many of his cases involve automotive design and manufacturing defects, defective tires and vehicle rollovers, and he has litigated a wide array of cutting edge issues in the product liability field throughout the country against virtually every international automotive and tire manufacturer, resulting in numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements, including an $11 million dollar verdict against Mitsubishi Motors that was affirmed by the appellate court in 2011.
